He could make about 200m Pounds available before the theoretical loss of value to the club in the event that Rooney had left actually started to cost him money. Utd + WR = 1b pounds Utd – WR = 790m pounds, so even making 150m available for transfers and retaining WR would’ve made economic sense.
Gotta hand it to WR and SAF, they work well together and made Malcolm Glazer look like the only online player at the final WSOP table!!
