ROONEY – EUROPEAN CLUBS SHOULD LOOK AT MLS FOR TRANSFERS

The MLS is still buzzing from the latest transfer window where the League broke its record of highest transfer received with the sale of Miguel Almiron from Atlanta to Newcastle United. The transfer of Almiron created a lot of publicity in the MLS and England for various reasons.

In the MLS the $27 million fees received was the highest and showed that MLS clubs were coming of age in producing quality talent. While in England many were surprised that Newcastle had broken its transfer record to sign a player in a relatively inferior league.
