DE GEA HAILS ROONEY

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has said that he would not be willing to swap any of the Manchester City strikers for Wayne Rooney. The England star has scored 33 goals in all competitions for Manchester United this season, while he also moved to the fourth in the all-time list for the United scorers. He is all set to lift the 20th Premier league title with United this season, but they need to not lose against City on Monday night. United will be heading into the Manchester derby three points ahead of City in the table. There will be only two matches in the Premier league following this encounter, which means that United will be the favourites to lift the title if they avoid defeat at the Etihad stadium.

Manchester City have been the sensational attacking force this season, which is a change from the traditional attacking displays from Manchester United. Sergio Aguero has been a great striker for City this season, but David De Gea reckons that he will not have his former Athletico Madrid in the Manchester United team in place of Rooney. City have been an attacking threat at home this season. They have managed to go unbeaten for a long time now, but it will be under threat when United visit City on Monday night.

“Yes, the City attack has its stars but I wouldn’t swap Wayne for any of them. He is more than a Manchester United footballer, he is the key man in our squad. City possesses dangerous forwards and any of them are capable of scoring against us. I know Aguero well and in this type of game he is always at his best. This derby is a final for us. If we beat City, United will be Premier League champions again. It’s as simple as that,” said David De Gea.
